Ganderbal : Ahead of the G20 Summit, the Roads and Buildings department Ganderbal has started the upgradation and blacktopping work of the Tullamulla-Dangerpora- Khirbhawani Road.
District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq on Wednesday visited Tullamulla and inaugurated the blacktopping work on Tullamulla-Dangerpora- Khirbhawani road taken up under G20.
While inaugurating the black topping, the DDC Chairperson said that road connectivity is the basic requirement for growth and development of any area.
The DDC Chairperson was informed that under this upgradation work, all the road stretches that have been damaged on the Tullamulla Khirbhawani-Dangerpora via Theeru up to the Dumbkadal (Shifa Kadal) junction will be fully repaired and macadmised. Besides, shoulders on both sides of the roads will be fully developed so that people can also walk by foot.
Paved shoulders help prolong the life of the blacktop surface and serve as lay-by for parked vehicles to ensure the full functionality and utility of the carriageway to its design capacity. There will also be maintenance of the centre verge of the road, an official said.
The DDC Chairperson called upon the officers to put in sincere and dedicated efforts to take the benefits of all government schemes to the targeted sections of the society.
The Executing Agency was directed to complete the work at the earliest to provide benefits to the general public of the area.
