Budgam : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti in collaboration with Municipal Council Budgam on Tuesday conducted an awareness rally from Boys Higher Secondary Budgam to DC office Complex, here.
The rally was organized under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav, an initiative of the Government of India.
The aim of the mega road show was to spread the message of drug abuse to every nook and corner of the district in order to make Budgam drug free and raise awareness among participants about substance abuse and ways to get rid of this menace and its eradication from society.
Around 50 students participated in the rally carrying posters and placards with messages urging the public to refrain from tobacco/drug use. The students raised various slogans such as ‘Say no to drugs, Yes to life’.
Principal BHSS, Municipal Council Staff and the staff of DHEW accompanied the students in rally.
