DGP Dilbagh sanctions Welfare Loan of Rs 1.18 Cr, 66 lac for Police Personnel

Srinagar: Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Tuesday sanctioned over Rs 1.18 crore welfare loan/relief for 100 personnel for their immediate financial needs vide PHQ’s order No.1423 of 2023. The DGP on this occasion also sanctioned a welfare relief to NOKs of 2 deceased police personnel.
According to the statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Srinagar, the order was issued for welfare loan of Rs. one lac each in favour of 55 police personnel while Rs 1.50 lac each has been sanctioned to 31 police personnel for the expenses of their own marriage and marriage of their sons/daughters. Police in it’s above referred statement said that Nine (9) police personnel have been provided a welfare loan of Rs. 1.5 lac each for higher/professional education of their wards and one lakh each has been sanctioned to two police personnel for professional/higher education of their wards, adding therein that Rs 50 thousand each has also been sanctioned to two police personnel for Mundan ceremony of their children and Rs. 50,000 has further been sanctioned to one police personnel for the expenses of marriage of his sister.
Police in its above referred statement further said that DGP has also sanctioned Rs. one lac to a daughter of a slain head constable in connection with her marriage ceremony. Police in it’s above quoted statement further said that Police Chief in an another order also sanctioned a special welfare relief of Rs 22 lcs each to NoKs of HC Rakash Kumar, HC Naresh Kumar and SgCt Muzid Ahmad, who passed away while performing their duty.
Police in it’s above quoted statement furthermore said that the welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest, however, the welfare relief provided is non-refundable. Police in it’s statement also said that PHQ under different welfare schemes is providing assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of slain police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs, besides, meritorious scholarship for the brilliant wards of in-service police personnel/slain/retired police personnel/SPOs is provided to inculcate spirit of competition among them.
