2 Militant associates held in Shopian, Arms, ammunition & IED also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that 2 militant associates linked to LeT militant outfit were on Tuesday arrested in a joint operation with security forces in Shopian during which incriminating materials, IED, arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Head Srinagar Police said that during the course of investigation of Case registered under FIR No. 65/2023 of PS Shopian Police alongwith Army (44 RR) and CRPF (14 Bn) on Tuesday arrested two militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit identified as Shahid Ahmad Lone S/o Ab Rashid Lone R/o Chotipora Shopian and Waseem Ahmad Ganie S/o Ab Hamid Ganie R/o Borihalan Shopian.
Police in it’s statement further said that it has has also recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one pistol, one pistol magazine, four pistol rounds, One silencer, One IED, One remote control, 2 batteries and One empty magazine of AK 47 rifle.
Police in its above quoted statement furthermore said that in a similar action Police along with security forces also arrested a militant associate of LeT militant outfit identified as Tanveer Ahmad Wani So Bashir Ahmad Wani R/o Daramdora Shopian and the incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 1 AK series rifle, 1 magazine and 10 rounds were also recovered from his possession and accordingly a case vide FIR No. 65/2023 was registered in PS Shopian and investigation has been initiated.
