World Red Cross Day: GCW Gandhi Nagar conducts poster making competition on Organ donation

Jammu : The Red Cross unit of Government PG College For Women, Gandhi Nagar, in collaboration with college IQAC organised a poster making competition on the topic – “Organ donation” in the college Smart Class Room to celebrate World Red Cross Day .
Dr Shalini Sharma, Convenor of the Red Cross Unit presented the formal welcome address. She apprised the students about this year’s World Red Cross day theme “Everything we do Comes #from heart”. She emphasised on the celebration of this day with the spirit of humanitarianism and to recognise the individuals who make difference in their communities. Prof.Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college applauded the Red Cross Unit for sensitising the students on such issues of social relevance.
Prof Anuradha Gandotra (HOD, Food Science), Prof. Mala Bhasin (HOD, Botany) and Dr Yash Paul Sharma (Convenor, IQAC) were the esteemed jury members of the event. About 10 (Ten) students participated in the competition. Nancy Devi (B.A Sem-2nd), Abia Gupta (B. A Sem- 2nd), and Preeti Kalsi (B.Sc Sem-2nd) were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd winner respectively. The winners were awarded with certificates. Prof.Eisha Gohil, Prof. Nesha, Dr. Ashok Kumar and Dr Suraj Mohani Jamwal (Organising committee members) were also present during the event. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof Paramjeet Singh.
