Srinagar : The Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) has asked the LG administration to speed up work on smart city projects in Srinagar.

Aijaz Shahdhar, President of KTA, stated that while the speed of work on smart city projects in Lal Chowk is good, the pace of work in areas like Karan Nagar is sluggish, causing many inconveniences to the residents while also causing a fall in commerce.

“Karan Nagar road, which is a vital link to Kashmir’s tertiary healthcare institutions SMHS and SKIMS, was dug for laying some underground pipes, but it has been a long time since the road has been repaired, creating traffic jams and even halting ambulance movement for hours, which is unfortunate.”

“We have urged the authorities to expedite the project’s work, but nothing has been done so far,” Shahdhar said, adding that the LG administration should prioritise finishing smart city projects since it has kept businesses in regions where work is being done captive
