Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has seized 2 vehicles and also arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg arrested two persons and also seized two vehicles (tipper & tractor) from their possession which were involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Shrai Tangmarg, adding therein that the accused have been identified as Umar Ahmad Dar S/o Ab Ahad Dar R/o Check Charat Ram Kunzer & Mohd Amin Ganie S/o Ab Wahan Ganie R/o Mirchipora.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further course of investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and subsequently appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
