Srinagar: Commissioner Secretary Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur on Thursday inaugurated a two-day training programme on “Decentralised Planning and the processes involved in Plan Formulation” for officers and officials of the department here at Government Polytechnic College in Gogji Bagh.
Director Panchayat, Khalid Majeed, ACDs, BDOs, Panchayat Inspectors, Panchayat Accounts Assistants, and Panchayat Secretaries and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
During the programme, the Commissioner Secretary emphasised the importance of the GPDP formulation and the participation of line departments in the Gram Sabha meetings for preparing a holistic and comprehensive developmental plan for Gram Panchayats that meets the aspirations of the locals. She also underscored the need for organising training programmes for Chief Planning Officers (CPOs) of districts so that planning is done in an efficient manner.
During the meeting, Commissioner Secretary lauded the efforts of several Prabari Officers in formulating excellent GPDPs.
The training was simultaneously organised in Jammu on e-Governance at Government College for Women, Parade Ground.
The training programme is aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the officers and officials in decentralised planning and e-governance.
The training programmes were a resounding success, with the participants gaining valuable knowledge and skills in decentralised planning and e-governance.
