Budgam : Continuing its efforts, the DHEW wing of the Social Welfare department Budgam on Thursday organized Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) camp at Khanpora Budgam to spread awareness regarding drug abuse.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Dr Syed Farhana Asgar, District Social Welfare Officer Budgam.
In this programme, a special team of experts from DHEW Budgam interacted with people of Khanpora and raised awareness regarding effects and impact of drug addiction on human health.
While talking to locals they said that DHEW Budgam is doing a good job as they continuously organize awareness camps regarding center sponsored schemes for female folk, guide female folk about their rights and other women related issues and now they are playing an active role in spreading information about drug addiction and other social evils.
One of the locals said that organizing these kinds of events is the need of the hour and he appreciated the department for carrying out such awareness programmes.
