DC Kathua listens to people’s issues at Weekly Block Diwas Prog

Kathua : As part of weekly Block Diwas initiative of the government, a Public grievances redressal camp was held in the DC Office complex here on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas presided over the camp.
BDC Chairperson Nagri, Khajan Chand; BDC Chairperson Barnoti, Brijeshwar Singh; DDC Nagri, Sandeep Majotra district officers and officials besides a large number of people attended the programme.
The programme witnessed a number of individuals and deputations including PRI members projecting demands and appraising the DC about the problems being faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.
On the occasion, locals sought early resolution of their problems including augmentation of drinking water supply in Sahar Panchayat, supply of APL ration, meeting the shortage of PDD field staff, construction of culvert on Lachhipur-Uttri road, measures to minimize effect of seasonal flood in Sahar, construction of protection Bund alongside Ujh River early completion of Juthana bridge.
After giving patient hearing to the demands of people, the DC said district administration will sincerely look into the issues highlighted and focus on providing solutions to the public after ascertaining ground realities. “We will find a workable solution to mitigate the grievances of the people” he assured. He said district administration will also rope in PRIs to take along the aspirations of the local people thus making the process participatory and inclusive.
Similarly, Block Diwas programs were held in Billawar and Basohli sub divisions.
