Block Diwas held at Kulgam; DC gives patient hearing to public

Gram sabhas best platform to prioritize developmental requirements: Dr Bilal

Kulgam: Providing an effective and accessible grievances redressal platform, the District Administration Kulgam on Wednesday organized Block Diwas in three blocks of the district at Devsar, Kulgam and D.H Pora to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.
At all the three places officers remained available for people and listened to their issues and grievances for early redressal.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat presided over the outreach camp at Kulgam where he listened to the issues and grievances of the people.
PRIs, delegations, individuals from Redwani, Sangas, Tangmarg, Gundpora, Turigam, Khee Jogipora, Gopalpora, Zangalpora and other areas participated in this grievances redressal camp and apprised the DC about issues of public importance besides projected various developmental requirements in their areas.
All the issues of people were listened to by the DC patiently and some of the grievances of immediate nature were redressed on spot and directions were passed for taking appropriate action on the rest of the issues.
Officers and heads of departments also responded to the public demands pertaining to their departments.
Addressing the occasion, the DC instructed RDD to incorporate most important works and prioritise the same in Gram Panchayat Plans.
He added that gram sabha with proactive participation is the best platform to prioritize the developmental requirements and ensure proper planning for overall development of villages.
