4 drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act, Also 2 thieves booked under PSA : Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has booked four drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act, besides arresting two thieves and booking them under PSA for their involvement in many cases in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that four drug peddlers identified as Habeel Yaseen Dar @ Rouf S/o Mohd Yaseen R/o Tarhama Kunzer, Ab Rehman Malik @ Rehman Military son of Ghulam Mohammad R/o Kalantra Payeen Kreeri, Shahnawaz Ahmad Mir @ Boja S/o Matwali Mir R/o Daragutliyan Uri & Hafeez Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd Abass R/o Rehsiwari Niloosa Baramulla have been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority and subsequently lodged them in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in it’s statement further said that many cases have been registered against the said drug peddlers for being involved in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Kunzer, Kreeri Wagoora, Uri, Bijhama and other areas of District Baramulla, adding therein that despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
Stating that the two thieves identified as Syed Zaffar Shah @ Zaffar S/o Mohd Muzaffar Shah & Fida Hussain Khanday @ Fida S/o Gh Mohammad Khanday, both residents of Devar Yakhmanpora Baramulla were detained under Public Safety Act by Police after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu, Police in it’s statement further said that many cases are registered against these thieves also and were involved in theft cases in Pattan area of District Baramulla and despite their involvement in many FIR’s, they did not mend their activities.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said Police said that consistent actions of Police against the criminals shall continue in operation and appealed people to make all possible efforts to eradicate social evils and making all efforts to keep society free from drug abuse.
