The “Mann Ki Baat” a popular public contact programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately after assuming the top office in New Dellhi was celebrated at Jammu Raj Bhavan the way it was celebrated at the United Nations Headquarters and also in several parts of the country and very rightly so. Since public contact programs of the Government show it’s interest in public responses to it’s initiatives, policy decisions and developmental programs, the decision to celebrate 100th episode of “Mann Ki Batt” program by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha at Jammu Raj Bhavan shows his huge respect for the public responses to the most popular public contact program of non else than the Prime Minister of the country. In fact Lt Governor Manoj Sinha himself has initiated a similar public contact program called “Awam Ki Awaz” from the day he assumed the office of Lt Governor in Jammu & Kashmir with the same spirit for which Prime Minister introduced “Mann Ki Batt” program from the day he assumed the office of the Prime Minister way back in the year 2014. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held video conference chats with the unparallel and unmatched top achievers of great national repute from health, education, urban development, environmental conservation, road, air and transport services ,space research and defence technology fields in his popular public contact program “ Mann Ki Batt”, the J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has so for invoked many top achievers from the fields of medicine, education, agriculture, horticulture, tourism, rural development and many allied fields from both Kashmir Valley and Jammu division in his popular public contact program “ Awam Ki Awaz” just to encourage others to contribute immensely in the developmental journey of Jammu & Kashmir.

“Since direct engagement with the performers in the Government and people at the grass roots goes well with the spirits of both the democracy and as well as the socio-economic transformation of the people, the Prime Minister’s “ Mann Ki Batt” and J&K Lt Governor’s “ Awam Ki Awaz” programs have set a new trend in the practices and precedences of public involvement in both the processes of development and as well as delivery of public services both at the national level and as well as in states and union territories of the countries”.

So similarities in initiatives of both the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi and the J& K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha speak volumes about their intents of reducing the alienation and increasing the intensity of contacts with the both the performers in Government and as well as people at the grass roots. Since direct engagement with the performers in the Government and people at the grass roots goes well with the spirits of both the democracy and as well as the socio-economic transformation of the people, the Prime Minister’s “ Mann Ki Batt” and J&K Lt Governor’s “ Awam Ki Awaz” programs have set a new trend in the practices and precedences of public involvement in both the processes of development and as well as delivery of public services both at the national level and as well as in states and union territories of the countries.
