‘DDU PSVP National Award’ winning Phulmarg panchayat of Kupwara felicitated

Kupwara : Rural Development Department Kupwara on Monday felicitated National Award winning Phulmarg Panchayat of Block Tarathpora of Kupwara district in an impressive felicitation function held, here.
Feroz Ahmad Bhat, Panchayat Secretary of Phulmarg received a memento and certificate of excellence as a mark of appreciation on behalf of Panchayat Phulmarg from Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kupwara, and Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) Kupwara.
Pertinently, Phulmarg Panchayat bagged Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDU PSVP) ‘National Panchayat Award’ 2023 under Water Sufficient Panchayat, thematic area.
GiriRaj Singh, Union Minister of Rural Development & Panchayt Raj had presented the National Panchayat Award to said Panchayat at the National Conference on Incentivization of Panchayats in New Delhi on April 17, 2023.
During the felicitation function, ACD, ACP and Panchayat secretaries interacted with the awardee Panchayat Secretary and congratulated for the achievement.
While appreciating the awardee Panchayat for its valuable, remarkable and outstanding achievement, Hilal Ahmad Mir ACD Kupwara said that national award is the endorsement of the exemplary work done by Panchayats of Kupwara district and the best Practices of the awardee Panchayat should be replicated by other Panchayats of the district.
By adopting the best practices of one Panchayat in other Panchayats, we can quickly develop and make our villages prosperous, he added.
ACD emphasised on the staff and field functionaries of the district to work with full zeal, zest, enthusiasm and honesty to achieve the Saturation and localization of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in all Panchayats of the district.
He further said that on the directions of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Dr.Doifode Sagar Dattatray, 24 top performing Panchayats of the district have been selected under different themes for National Panchayat awards 2024. Uploading of their GPDPs have been started as per their Sankalp and we will be working innovatively and vigorously on all thematic parameters to get more and more National panchayat awards, he added.
ACP Kupwara, Parvaiz Raheem on the occasion asked the Secretary Panchayats to be innovative and contribute to the welfare and prosperity of the society.
Efforts and performance of Panchayat Secretaries of Kupwara district were hailed during the felicitation function.
Panchayat Secretaries are real social influencers, innovators, social mobilizers and play a very crucial role in development and prosperity of rural areas, speakers said.
Panchayat secretaries on the occasion reiterated that they will leave no stone unturned to take rural areas of Kupwara district to new heights of development.
Convener, All J&K PS Association; Nazir Ahmad Wani, Provincial President All J&K PS Association Kashmir; Tahir Andrabi and other Panchayat Secretaries of the district attended the felicitation function.
