Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is the voice of 140 crore countrymen and it echoes their aspirations, dreams, challenges, success, failure, resolve and the new beginning.
“Mann Ki Baat is deeply rooted in our spiritual & cultural traditions and its ideas & ideals,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said hosting 100th Episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme here at Raj Bhawan.
The eminent personalities, young achievers, sportspersons, recipients of Padma and Panchayat Awards; National & UT Level awardees; Self Help Group members, citizens from across J&K UT who have been mentioned by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in previous editions of Mann Ki Baat were special invitees at the event.
The Lt Governor said the PM, through Mann Ki Baat, has established an effective and two-way communication with the citizens and made the Radio an integral part of every family.
“Dialogue is the soul of democracy. The direct communication between a statesman and citizens ensures that the foundation of democracy is strong, participation of citizens in governance is ensured and their voice is at the centre of policies,” said the Lt Governor.
‘Mann Ki Baat’ is the true reflection of the Prime Minister’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”. It has empowered the common man to become a key contributor in nation-building, he added.
Sinha highlighted the significant role played by the Mann Ki Baat program in strengthening the spirit of Unity in diversity and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
He said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ since the beginning of October 2014 has touched every section of society and influenced behavioral change to shape a new social revolution.
‘Mann Ki Baat’ is not only a powerful radio programme but it is also a source of inspiration to realize dreams and resolve society, he added.
The Lt Governor also inaugurated a Photo Exhibition to commemorate the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
Earlier, Sinha flagged off the marathon organised by Hindustan Scouts and Guides, Dogra Kranti Dal and Kashmir Road Safety Foundation.
100 marathons were organised today across J&K to celebrate 100th episode of PM Narendra Modi Mann Ki Baat radio programme, and raise awareness and strengthen action and cooperation against drug abuse and drug trafficking.
The Lt Governor expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring the youth of the country through Mann Ki Baat to overcome challenges and set the ambitious goal in life.
The Prime Minister has brought together youth from different backgrounds with a single dream of nation building, he added.
“India’s greatest strength is its unity in diversity. Through Mann Ki Baat programme Prime Minister has inspired the people to take pride in their heritage and acknowledged remarkable contribution of scientists, teachers, litterateurs, artistes in raising India’s stature in the world,” said the Lt Governor.
Addressing the youth on the occasion, the Lt Governor said, people from different walks of life have joined the fight against drug menace.
“Today, the youth of Jammu Kashmir have stood up against drug abuse. I am confident that our collective efforts will eliminate the narco-terrorism unleashed by neighboring country and lead the way for realising the goals of building a drug free Jammu Kashmir, observed the Lt Governor.
