Spl Camps on SSR 2023 held across Shopian

Shopian : As per the directions of Chief Electoral Officer J&K, the District Election Office Shopian on the second day on Saturday held a series of special camps and awareness meetings in the higher secondary schools Kapril, Shopian, Turkawangam and Vehil.
The focus of the camps was to attract those voters who have attained the age of maturity on or before, 1st April 2023.
Secondly prospective voters were also wooed for the registration process.
The camps were attended by large gatherings of eligible voters, prospective voters, BLOs and BLO Supervisors and staff members of the concerned institutions.
During the camps, on spot registrations were done by the BLOs and information about online methods like NVSP portal and voter helpline app was spread among the students. Further all BLOs were urged to complete the process of registrations and ensure that no voter is left behind.
On the occasion, Election Naib Tehsildar Shopian directed the BLOs to distribute the required forms like form 6 (Inclusion of Name), 6B (Linkage of aadhar card with EPIC), 7(Deletion of name) & 8 (Correction of particulars) among the new eligible votes.
A hands-on training was provided to the students and awareness was provided to them about the online mode registration through www.NVSP portal and Voter HelpLine app.
All the participants were informed that as per the directions of Election Commission of India the Special Summary Revision date was extended from 20th of April to 6th of May 2023.
Also, all BLOs were asked to deliver all the EPICS to the concerned voters at earliest and furnish the report as per the format through their respective AEROs.
Further, stress was laid on basic minimum facilities of polling stations were also given during the programme.
A question answer session among the students and BLOs was also held at Govt Higher Secondary School Kaprin.
At the end of the programme, some of the BLOs shared their experience and welcomed all the students who participated in the programme and registered their names in the Photo Electoral Roll 2023.
