Labour Commissioner visits Pulwama; directs for preparation of Labour Sarai cum office Complex DPR

Pulwama : Labour Commissioner, J&K, Ab Rashid War on Wednesday visited proposed sites for of construction of Labour Sarai at Washbugh, Drusoo and Pinglena in Pulwama.
The concerned officials of R&B Department, Revenue Department and Municipal Committee were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the R&B was directed to prepare the DPR for construction of Labour Sarai-cum-office complex at Washbugh at the earliest.
“The basic purpose of construction of Labour Saria is to provide accommodation to the poor labourers who come from far off areas to work at the district headquarter”, said labour Commissioner.
He added that the Government is committed to provide welfare to the labour class.
A meeting in this regard was also held with Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary, Dy. Commissioner, Pulwama in his office chamber and it was resolved that the Labour Sarai-cum-office complex shall be constructed at the acquired land of Labour Department at Washbugh.
Further it was also decided that the site at Pinglena shall be utilized for construction of labour Institute after fulfilling all the codal formalities.
The visiting Officer also reviewed the working of the Labour Department in Pulwama.
Assistant Labour commissioner, Pulwama Hafsa Qayoom, briefed him about the functioning of the office.
An amount of Rs. 2 lakh was also disbursed among the registered construction workers as Educational Assistance and Rs. 2.05 lakh among the dependents of deceased construction worker as Death-cum Funeral Assistance under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Scheme.
Further, the Labour Commissioner, J&K impressed upon the District Officer to ensure that the benefits to the poor workers shall reach to the grassroot level and sensitize the general public about the scheme, by organizing awareness camps in every nook and corner of district.
