DC Pulwama presides Maha Gram Sabha of “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan” at Litter, Pulwama

Pulwama : With an objective of sensitizing farmers about new interventions approved under the Holistic Agriculture Development programme and benefits under other Centrally Sponsored Schemes, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary, on Wednesday presided over a Maha Gram Sabha programme under “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan” here at Panchayat Halqa Litter Lassipora as extensive orientation programme for the farmers.
Addressing the programme under “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan”, Deputy Commissioner stated that under “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan”, capacity building cum orientation programmes will be held in all Panchayats to sensitize the farmers and PRI representatives about the recent Government plan to implement 29 projects costing more than Rs 500 crore from this year.
The plan is aimed to increase Agricultural production at holistic development and promotion of Agriculture and allied sectors so that the farmers can get maximum profit and create employment opportunities from the Agriculture sector.
He further stated that the “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan” is a prestigious programme of the Agriculture Production Department aimed at the overall welfare of farmers to educate farmers on various issues, including business management, entrepreneurship and Government schemes. He said the campaign will help farmers to increase their spending in the sector, ultimately leading to an improvement in their productivity and production.
He further stated that with the help of PRIs, the focus on farmers orientation and skilling agricultural programmes will ensure that the meticulous plan reaches the fields and prepare our farmers to meet new challenges and explore new possibilities, besides making farming accessible and more profitable.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on farmers and PRI representatives to actively participate in the programme to ensure the success of the ambitious program.
The Deputy Commissioner also sensitized youth and urged upon them to become the ambassadors of NashaMukt Abhiyan so that the message reaches in every nook and corners of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the interested unemployed youth to register themselves for different programmes of livelihood generation.
He also appealed to the unemployed youth to take a keen interest in self-employment and become entrepreneurs to generate livelihood for themselves and others as well, adding that the Government is committed to their hand-holding under the ambitious Mission Youth Programme.
The function was attended by members of Panchayat Raj Institutions, Block Development Officer Litter, Tehsildar Shahoora Litter, Chief Agriculture Officer, Pulwama and and large number of Farmers were present in the Mahagram Sabha of the “Kissan Sampark Abhiyan”.
