Catch the Rain Save the Water: DC Reasi discuss action plan for promotion of water Conservation campaign

Reasi : District Development Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal on Wednesday chaired a meeting to discuss the action plan for promotion of the “Catch the Rain Save the Water” initiative among the people regarding rain water conservation.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding the implementation of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and the challenges being faced by the executing agencies in the district.
The DC directed the stakeholders to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jevan Mission to provide safe and adequate drinking water supply to all households of the district in all seasons. Stress was laid on execution of the schemes in a coordinated manner to ensure the success of the program.
The officials were also instructed to formulate a holistic plan covering both rural and urban areas with the focus on the central theme of Source Sustainability of drinking water supply, specially ground water sources and springs.
The Water conservation measures (District Water Conservation Plan) for the urban and rural areas was also discussed to ensure optimum use of rain, springs and clear water falls in the district
The DDC also directed the executing agencies to follow the timelines for various components/activities under JSA-CTR 2023.
