Block Diwas Prog held at Panchayat Halqa Gudsathu in Block Budgam

Public participation in Gram Sabhas imperative for overall dev of rural areas: ADDC B’gam

Budgam : The District Administration Budgam on Wednesday conducted a weekly Block Diwas program at Panchayat Halqa Gudsathu in Block Budgam.
The programme was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak at Government High School Gudsathu, where local PRIs, respected elders and local youth delegations from village Gudsathu, Lalgam, Panzan , Langund, Mirgund, Naroo and other adjacent villages raised their demands.
The ADDC gave them patient hearing and assured that all their genuine demands shall be addressed on priority.
At the outset, the concerned Jal Shakti officials informed that work on Rs. 7 crore JJM project was going on to ensure adequate potable water supply to residents of Gudsathu and adjoining villages.
ADDC said that local participation in Gram Sabhas and plan formation is imperative for the development of all rural areas in Budgam.
Instructions were given for holding a joint camp by Agriculture and other allied departments for on spot redressal of public issues.
The ADDC instructed revenue authorities to address issues related to the correction of land records of local farmers on priority.
He said the concerned departments give awareness on different schemes including PM Kissan, PDD Amnesty Scheme, PM- Kusum and facilitate distribution of seed varieties, awareness regarding fertilizers, vaccination of livestock and form submission for various services to the general public.
The ADDC directed concerned to carry out protection works, desiltation, and other improvement works on all irrigation canals on war footing to ensure adequate irrigation supply to local farmers.
The ADDC said that besides overall development of people, self-employment and cleanliness are among the top priorities for the District Administration in Budgam.
ADDC also directed concerned to completion of ongoing works in a time bound manner to provide better road, transport, sports, educational and health facilities to locals.
PDD authorities were instructed to ensure execution of improvement works in a stipulated timeframe.
ADDC urged locals to play an active role in curbing the drug menace from the society for a better society and safeguard the young generation, the DC appealed elders to ensure tight vigil that their wards remain away from drugs or any other social evil.
He urged local unemployed youth to register under different self- employment schemes to open their own business ventures and become successful entrepreneurs.
Stressing on cleanliness, the ADDC urged locals to stop dumping of garbage roadside, drains or any other open areas, instead appealed them to support local panchayat to ensure proper use of dustbins, segregation for proper disposal.
Among others, ADDC, BDO, CAO, ZEO, BMO, AEEs, and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
