Baramulla : District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Baramulla under Mission Shakti, on Wednesday organised an awareness programme here at Government Girls secondary School Pattan meant for the upliftment and empowerment of women.
The purpose of the programme was to uplift the women and empower them so that they compete with every challenge they face in their lives.
During the programme, DHEW team imparted awareness to a large number of women about the eligibility criteria, documentation and the procedure to avail the benefits under the different government schemes viz. ISSS, Marriage Assistance Scheme, One Stop Centre, Women Helpline-181, BBBP, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, PMMVY, skill development courses by SBI RSETI, PMKVY as well as women entrepreneurship programme likes Tejaswini, PMEGP etc.
Social Worker from Special cell for Women, Ms Ifla talked about provisions regarding protection of women and Bilal Bhat, project coordinator 181 also spoke on the occasion and created awareness about the women helpline 181.
The team also discussed the issues related to cyber crime and stalking. They also discussed the means of prevention of such crimes.
Participants were also made aware of steps they can take in order to seek help in case of any cyber security issue they face.
Meanwhile, grievances of the women were also noted and they were assured to provide assistance with the help of the concerned department.
Pamphlets regarding women-centric schemes were also distributed among the participants.
