Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested six persons along with six vehicles for involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Sajjad Bukhari assisted by SHO PS Sheeri arrested four persons and also seized 4 vehicles (tractors) involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Mundri Nallah Fatehgarh, adding there that the arrested persons have been identified as Muzamil Ahmad Bhat S/o Bilal Ahmad Bhat R/o Zogiyar, Mudasir Rasheed Dar S/o Abdul Rasheed Dar R/o Heewan, Firdous Ahmad Malla S/o Mohd Sarwar Malla R/o Sheeri & Tajamul Bashir Malla S/o Bashir Ahmad Malla R/o Sheeri.
Stating that a Police Party led by In-charge Police Post Delina arrested two persons and also seized two vehicles (1 tipper & 1 tractor) involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Juhama Baramulla, Police in it’s statement further said that the accused persons have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Ramzan Bhat R/o Delina & Ab Majeed Lone S/o Ab Aziz R/o Kachwa Muqam Chandoosa. Police in it’s statement furthermore said that it has accordingly registered cases under relevant sections of law in respective Police Stations and initiated a further course of investigation into the case.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt strictly and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
