Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chellan Boniyar, arrested a drug peddler identified as Shakeel Ahmad S/o Mohd Hanief Kandal R/o Mawer Nowgam Kupwara, adding therein that during searches 127 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered from the possession of the above named accused who was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In a similar action Police said that a Police party of Police Post Mirgund during patrolling at Mirchimar Mirgund arrested two drug peddlers identified as Gh Mohammad Dar S/o Ab Rehman Dar R/o Mirgund & Manzoor Ahmad Dar S/o Assadullah Dar R/o Chenbal Mirgund., adding therein that during searches 252 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from the possession of the said accused who were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that it has accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
