Jammu: Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered 73.5 grams of Heroin, i.e, 62 grams and 8 grams at two different nakas in the jurisdictions of Police Station Bagh-E-Bahu, Police Station Satwari and 3.5 grams of heroin in the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib.
In a statement issued in Jammu on Tuesday a spokesman of District Police Jammu said that a police team of Police Station Bagh-E-Bahu led by SDPO East Sayed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Police Station Bagh-E-Bahu Inspr. Arti Thakur while on naka at Kalka colony rounded up two suspects, adding therein that during searches 62 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused namely:-1. Pooja W/o Sunny R/ Rajeev Nagar Narwal District Jammu.
2. Lacho W/o Suresh R/o Chugiya Guru Amar Dass Colony Naraingarh chhehartta Amritsar Punjab, who were coming from Gujjar Nagar towards Narwal.
Police in it’s statement further said that Case FIR No. 45/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has registered at Police Station Bagh-E-Bahu and accused has been also arrested.
Stating that during patrolling duty police teams of Police Post Chatha led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Police Station Satwari Inspr. Sumeet Sharma and I/C PP Chatha PSI Harjinder Paul Singh police teams rounded up one suspect during patrolling duty near Peer Baba Chatha and also rounded up another suspect identified as Paramjeet Singh @Shotu S/o Harvinder Singh Caste Sikh R/o Parbath Colony Ward No. 05 H.No. 31, the Police Spokesman in his above quoted statement said that during searches 8 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession, adding therein that In this regard a case Case FIR No. 71/2023 U/S 8/21/22 Ndps Act was registered at Police Station Satwari and the accused was also arrested.
The Police spokesman in his statement furthermore said that another police team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO PS Miran Sahib Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq while on naka duty at TCP Kharian rounded up a suspect later identified as Sunny Sharma S/o Makhan lal R/o Indra nagar Miran sahib, adding therein that during searches 3.5 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the said accused and a case FIR No. 82/2023 U/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Miran Sahib and accused was alsi arrested.
In the concluding para of his statement the Police Spokesman said Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
