3 gamblers arrested in Bla, stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three gamblers and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about gambling activities in Janbazpora Baramulla, a police party of Police Station Baramulla raided the specific site and arrested three gamblers on the spot who were identified as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh Mohd Sheikh R/o Fatehgarh, Bilal Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Gani R;o Janbazpora & Ab Qayoom Gariyal S/o Gh Mohi ud Din R/o Khanpora.
Stating that it has seized stake money of Rs. 68,460/- and playing cards from the gamblers who have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
