Police organises awareness Prog on Prevention of Drug Addiction in B’gam

Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Thursday organised an awareness programme on “Prevention of Drug Addiction” at Higher Secondary School Wathoora.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the main aim of the event was to educate students about the dangers of drug addiction besides, to provide resources for those struggling with substance abuse.
The event began with a presentation about the effects of drug addiction on both individuals and society as a whole. Students were shown statistics on the negative impact of drugs on their physical health, mental well-being, relationships, and professional opportunities. After the presentation, students were invited to participate in breakout sessions where they could ask questions and learn more about the specific challenges of addiction. These small-group discussions were facilitated by trained counsellors, providing students with a safe and confidential space to share their experiences. Throughout the event, students were encouraged to take advantage of the resources available to them. These included hotline numbers, counselling services, and support groups for both individuals struggling with addiction and their loved ones.
