Block Diwas held at Drabgam, Pulwama

Massive public participation in Block Diwas, a reflection of People's confidence in Govt. & Admin: DC

Pulwama : The District Administration Pulwama held Block Diwas at Eidgah Drabgam-A to assess the local issues and listen to the grievances of the people for speedy disposal of the same with the intervention of senior government officers and representatives of panchayat institutions.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary chaired the public outreach programme and redressed hundreds of grievances on the spot.
Several public issues including road connectivity to uncovered areas, macadamization of interior roads, availability of sports stadium/ playground for youth, establishment of Post office, Boundary wall around higher secondary school, completion of under construction building in HSS, providing of bore well and better drinking water facilities, allopathic primary health centre in the area, establishment of timber sale depot, Bridge at Nallah Romshi, development of irrigation khul and augmentation of the health infrastructure were projected by the local people and PRIs.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised and assured quality disposal of genuine issues in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned department heads/ officers to resolve the same expeditiously and submit the action taken report before next scheduled block diwas.
The various hurdles and bottlenecks in the social security schemes were also resolved on the spot with the convergence of multiple departments.
He also gave on-the-spot directions for the redressal of many issues of urgent nature as per the competence of concerned Departments.
The DC further added that District Administration is ensuring to provide all facilities to the people at their doorsteps and in this regard necessary instructions are already given to line departments.
While interacting with the local people, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and the delegations, the DDC said that the Block Diwas is being organized across the length and breadth of the District Pulwama, with the sole objective to provide more transparent, accountable, public-friendly and responsive administration to the people.
On the occasion, the DC said that Block Diwas is a regular feature now and appealed to people to become active participants so that the issues of daily importance are redressed in the minimum possible time.
The DC directed the District and sectoral officers to ensure service counter of their respective Departments at Block Diwas meetings so that the public can reap the benefits of different government schemes without visiting offices repeatedly.
He directed the concerned officers to exhort for the completion of ongoing projects, roads and bridges. He urged officers to complete the work within the shortest possible time.
The DC was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz; ASP Pulwama, DDC Members, PRIs, ACD Pulwama, ACP Pulwama, SE KPDCL, Ex-En KPDCL, CMO Pulwama, CAHO Pulwama, Officers from Agriculture and Horticulture Deptts, Tehsildar Rajpora, BDO Shadimarg, and all other District officers.
