Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday presided over Block Diwas at Sumbal sub-division of Bandipora to listen to the public.
The locals including PRIs enthusiastically participated in the programme to present their developmental aspirations and sought redressal of various grievances.
The DC patiently listened to the grievances and suggestions of locals and PRIs and passed on spot directions for redressal of various issues.
Dr. Owais on the occasion urged the locals to actively participate in Gram Sabhas and work in close coordination with PRIs to participate in various developmental activities.
He asked officers and PRIs that the publicity of schemes should be ensured in all panchayats for effective and proper implementation of various schemes and programmes.
The DC said that Block Diwas is affirming the commitment of the government for an accessible administration at the door steps of people.
He also asked officers and officials of various departments to ensure biometric attendance and ensure redressal of public grievances on priority.
The DC was accompanied by SSP Bandipora Lakshay Sharma, Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, SDM Sumbal Amir Choudhary and other concerned officers.
