Contraband substances recovered in Shopian: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered huge quantity of contraband substances in village Narwani of Shopian district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police Station Imamsahib received inputs through reliable sources about indulging of one person namely Gulzar Ahmad Wani S/o Khazir Mohammad R/o Narwani in drug peddling activities besides hoarding a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
Stating that on receiving the input a police party of Police Station Imamsahib alongwith Naib Tehsildar Imamsahib raided the specific location and during searches 5.5kgs of Fuki and 5kgs of Fuki Powder was recovered from the said residential house, Police in it’s statement said that while efforts are on to nab the culprit a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib and further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
