Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit in Pattan area of Baramulla and recovered arms & ammunition, IED & other incriminating materials on their disclosure.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about movement of militant associates, Police alongwith Army (29RR) and SSB (2ndBn) busted a militant module at Pattan Baramulla and arrested 2 militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit, adding therein that the arrested militant associates detained in the joint operation were identified as Farooq Ahmad Parra S;o Gh Ahmad Parra R/o Par Mohalla Pattan and Saima Bashir D/o Bashir Ahmad Mir R/o Chinkipora Sopore and later shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Stating that on the disclosure of the above named militant arms and ammunition including a Pistol, 2 Pistol Magazines, 5 Pistol rounds and IED (approximately 2kgs) alongwith remote control & other incriminating materials were recovered, Police in it’s statement further said that during preliminary questioning, the arrested duo revealed that they were working as militant associates with active militant Abid Qayoom Lone of Wussan Pattan linked with LeT militant outfit. Police in it’s above quoted statement furthermore said that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.
