SHD B’pora organises District Level training prog under HADP

Bandipora : Department of sheep Husbandry Bandipora on Monday organised District level training program under Holistic Agriculture Development plan(HADP) regarding Promotion of wool & pelt for effective processing and marketing at District Sheep Husbandry office Bandipora.
The programme witnessed participation of experts from SKUAST-K, KVK Bandipora/Gurez and District Heads of Agriculture & allied departments, field functionaries from Sheep Husbandry Department and other concerned.
The event was moderated by SMS Animal Science KVK, B’pora, Dr Nazir Ahmad Mir.
Speaking on the occasion, the key speaker of the event Professor and Head, Division of Livestock production & technology, FVSc & A.H. Dr Asif Hassan throwed a detailed light on the HADP project for promotion of wool.
He thoroughly briefed the audience about various aspects of the project and its potential in transforming, upgrading and revolutionizing the Sheep Husbandry sector with interventions like increased market & industrial linkages, effective wool, pelt aggregation, processing & technology development.
employment generation and value addition of sheep products/ byproducts.
He also addressed the concerns & queries raised by the wool growers & entrepreneurs satisfactorily.
Dr Bilal PC, KVK Gurez also briefed the audience about different aspects of the project and ways for its smooth execution and implementation for the larger benefit of farmers and stressed on formation of FPO’s.
Chief Agriculture officer Bandipora, who is also District Nodal officer for the programme also addressed and apprised the audience about implementation of the HADP programe at the Grass root level & sensitized the staff about panchayat level training sessions which shall commence very shortly for which the strategy has been devised.
The conclusion was marked by address of District Sheep Husbandry officer Bandipora Dr Showkat Ahmad who thanked the experts for delivering quality technical presentations. He stressed for smooth implementation of the programe in District Bandipora for the welfare of farming community.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr Nazir Ahmad.
