Bandipora : Special Gram Sabhas were held across all the Panchayats of Bandipora district on Monday to discuss and finalise Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP).
The Gram sabhas were presided over by prabhari officers and were attended by PRIs, General Public and officers from line departments besides local population.
Detailed discussions were held for the finalization of GPDP. The participants gave their suggestions and there plans were accordingly modified as per the local needs.
After detailed discussions various plans under GPDP 2023-24 were approved during the special Gram Sabhas.
During the Special Gram Sabhas Chief Secretary J&k virtually interacted with the PRIs and general public of Sonerwani Panchayat.
On the occasion the visiting officers urged the locals to actively participate in the Gram Sabhas to be part of the decision making process. They said the Gram Sabhas are like parliaments of a village and every citizen is member of it. They said every citizen is duty bound to participate in the gram sabhas to decide about their developmental needs so that funds can be used accordingly.
