Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad who is also the District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora on Sunday, inspected serval polling booths of the district to take stock of the ongoing special summary revision (SSR).
The DC interacted with the BLOs in Sumbal Sub Division, Bandipora and Aloosa blocks and got feedback about the ongoing process besides discussing various provisions and achievable parameters of SSR with reference date of 1st January 2023 and the progress achieved till date.
The BLOs apprised the DEO about the ongoing process and informed him about various issues that hindered the process. He passed on the spot direction for resolution of various issues and urged the BLOs to continue to work with extra zeal.
Dr Owais stressed upon the BLOs to work in tandem to ensure maximum registration of the new eligible voters. He asked the concerned officers to intensify the efforts for fulfilling the target of SSR.
He also stressed on enhanced awareness activities under SVEEP and directed EROs, AEROs to coordinate with DyDEO and college authorities of the district for organising registration camps, intensified SVEEP activities and to conduct door to door surveys.
DEO also directed the officers associated with SSR to ensure that the exercise is completed within the stipulated period of time with 100 percent enrollment of eligible people who have attained the prescribed age of voting.
The DEO was accompanied by SDM Sumbal, Tehsildars of respective tehsils, Naib Tehsildars, and other senior officers of the district.
