Srinagar : Police in Baramulla on Sunday said that it has arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar Baramulla intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05H-6961 driven by Mohd Abbas Dar S/o Ab Khaliq Dar R/o Fatehpora Baramulla and during searches recovered 17 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the said accused who was immediately arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and further investigation taken up, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding anti-social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti-social activities will be dealt as per law.
