Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a fraudster involved in selling fake Gondola Tickets in Gulmarg.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Gulmarg received a written complaint from Manager Gulmarg Gondola Project wherein he alleged that a ticket checker caught 2 tourists with a fake gondola ticket,
“During enquiry, the tourists said that tourist guide has sold them these tickets at a cost of Rs. 2500/- per ticket”, reads the Police statement further.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Gulmarg and initiated an investigation in the case, Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation and after strenuous efforts, a tourist guide namely Aashiq Hussain Magray S/o Ab Rashid Magray R/o Shrai Tangmarg involved in the commission of crime was arrested and after proper investigation, it was revealed by the fraudster that their modus operandi is to pre-book gondola tickets and then sell them to gullible tourists at exorbitant rates.
Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
