SKIMS Conducts Screening-cum- Awareness activities on ‘WORLD HEALTH DAY’

Srinagar : In connection with World Health Day, screening cum awareness activities were organized by the Department of Community Medicine SKIMS, at Health and Wellness center Chewa and CHC Hajin.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office SKIMS here, screening for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cancers was conducted. A total of around 170 individuals were screened for the same. Awareness was also given to these individuals about the risk factors of these disorders and emphasis was laid on their primordial and primary prevention.
Besides, handouts were also distributed among the participants and general public to generate awareness. This event was used as an opportunity to create awareness about the ongoing respiratory viral infections especially the recent surge in COVID 19 cases and the ways and methods to minimize the risk of transmission within the population by adopting COVID appropriate behaviour.
