Srinagar : Police on Thursday launched poppy cultivation & bung destruction drive in Ganderbal.
According statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police carried out destruction of poppy cultivation and wild bhung on massive scale in land in Watalbagh, Yenihama, Repora & Kranihama areas of district Ganderbal.
Police said that the drive was carried out by the Police Party of Police Station Lar led by SHO Lar Ruksana (Dy.SP Probationary), along with the team of Revenue & Excise Department.
Besides, the general public of these areas have widely appreciated the action taken by the Police and assured their full cooperation in future as well to eradicate drug menace from the society.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and reiterated that persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
