DC B’gam reviews progress on implementation of JJM in the Distt

DC Stresses on coordination between line Deptts, interacts with All Contractors Association of JJM

Budgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, S F Hamid on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review updated progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
The detailed review and status was put forth before DDC by the intending department touching almost all aspects of the scheme.
He was apprised that there are a total of 127555 households in the district which will be connected by the tap water connection. Besides, all institutions.
Anganwadi centres, Panchayat Ghar’s, PHCs, NTPHCs. transit accommodation at Ichgam will be covered under the scheme informed SE Hydraulic circle Budgam.
It is apt to mention that the deadline for the Har Ghar Jal Scheme is August 2023.
The DDC directed all the concerned officers to share the list of all pending schools, aganwadi Centers, hospitals, which are without piped connection immediately so that issue shall be resolved on priority basis.
He also stressed on the officers to speed up the process of water connections so that no household would remain uncovered under the said scheme.
The DC directed the line department such as R&B, Forests, Rural Development, Police and Revenue to have coordination with PHE department in ensuring speedy completion of JJM works in the District.
He further directed PHE department Budgam and chadoora to share weekly chart of works/ activities with all these concerned departments, so that there is no loophole in completion of works under JJM.
Later in the meeting, Deputy Commissioner (DC) interacted with all Contractors association of JJM in the District.
The Association put forth their demands before the DC.
The DC said all support will be provided to contractors from District Administration for completing the works under JJM.
He stressed that all work done under the scheme should be clean and the pace of work needs to be speed up so that the project is completed within stipulated time line.
The meeting among others was attended by ADDC Budgam Dr. Akhramullah Tak, JD Planning, SE Mechanical, CEO, ACD, ACP, ACR, DIO, Ex. Engineers of PHE both chadoora and Budgam and other concerned officers, and all contractors of the Association of JJM in the District.
