4 drug peddlers arrested in Bla, contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four including two lady drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by SHO Police Station Kreeri under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Khalid Ashraf during patrolling at Kalantra Kreeri intercepted two suspicious persons and during checking recovered 110 grams of Charas like substance from their possession after which the accused were identified as Ab Rehman Malik @Rehman Military S/o Gh Mohd Malik R/o Kalantra Payeen and Naseer Ahmad Hajam S/o Gh Mohiuddin R/o Kachwa Muqam.
Stating that the above named accused have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that
officers from PS Boniyar led by SHO PS Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri Showkat Ali also arrested two lady drug peddlers alongwith 113 grams of Charas like substance during checking at Chellan Boniyar.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that the accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, adding therein that it has accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law at respective police stations and further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.
