Anantnag : In order to finalise the sanitation plan for forthcoming Amarnath Yatra Additional deputy commissioner Anantnag Dr S.M Ashraf on Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers.
The meeting was apprised by ACD that 1200 persons are required for cleaniness of the halting stations and the yatra route. He said that we are going to hire the sweepers, sanitation workers, workers for segregation at source, besides the volunteers. He shared his previous years experience with the chair to make this year’s yatra more successful.
He stated that 26 sanitation centres are being mobilised during the yatra besides the services of NGOs and other stakeholders is also being utilised. ADC while speaking on the occasion said that no compromise will be made on the services being provided to Amarnath Yatris and every effort must be taken well in advance to avoid any delay in services.
The line departments were directed for early implementation of their plans with regard to Amarnath Yatra. He further said that the event being of national importance and sanitation and other services from Nawvug tunnel to holly cave is the prime concern of the Adminstration.
He advised the officers for early installation and inspection of the machinary and makeshift of sanitary points.
The meeting was attended by ACR, ACD, CEO MC Anantnag, ACP, BDO pahalgam, E. Os of MC Mattan , Qazigund etc.
