Srinagar: A youth allegedly killed his mother in north Kashmir’ Sopore township, officials said on Thursday.
The accused youth strangulated his mother to death in Dangarpora village in Sopore township of Baramulla district late last evening.
The accused, an alleged drug addict, has been arrested within hours of committing the crime by the police.
The body of the woman has been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Sopore police station and further investigation is underway, an official said.
