Srinagar: Meteorological department on Thursday predicts widespread moderate rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 2 days.
The wet weather is likely to trigger from 0830hours Thursday till 0830 April 6, the MeT office said.
Currently the weather is mostly cloudy with sun playing hide and seek over Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a low of 6.6 degree Celsius on Thursday against the 5.5 degree Celsius recorded on Wednesday which was 0.5 degree Celsius above normal.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway had a low of 4.6 degree Celsius and it was 0.1 degree Celsius below normal of against 4.7 degree Celsius.
Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of 0.8 degree Celsius against minus 0.6 degree Celsius a day ago. It was 0.8 degree Celsius below normal for the tourist hot spot.
Kokernag settled on 4.9 degree Celsius against 4.3 degree Celsius the previous day and it was 0.2 degree Celsius above normal for the famous picnic spot of south Kashmir.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.0 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day on Thursday and it was 0.8 degree Celsius above normal for the famed ski resort of Kashmir.
Kupwara recorded a low of 5.7 degree Celsius against 4.2 degree Celsius which was 1.2 degree Celsius above normal for the frontier Kashmir district, the MeT office said.
