Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has booked three notorious drug peddlers under J&K PIT NDPS Act in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that three drug peddlers identified as Maroof Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd Younis Khan R/o Ramgai Uri, Tawqeer Bashir Magray S/o Bashir Ahmad Magray R/o Nowshera Boniyar and Mohd Altaf Chopan S/o Mohd Ahsan Chopan R/o Kanispora Baramulla, were booked by it under J&K PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Stating that the booked drug peddlers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu, Police in it’s statement said that the said drug peddlers were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Uri, Nowshera, Boniyar, Baramulla and other areas of District Baramulla and many cases were registered against them, adding therein that despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
