Theft case solved in B’gam, 4 accused arrested, Stolen property worth lacs also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Tuesday solved a theft case by arresting 4 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on Ist February this year Police Station Magam received a written complaint from one person namely Jameel Jamsheed Magray S/o Abdul Ahad Magray R/o Batpora Kanihama who alleged therein that during the intervening night of 31st January and1st February this year, some unknown thieves have stolen iron rods weighing about 93 Quintals lying outside his Iron and Cement store titled MS Magray Cement Store at Batpora Kanihama.
Stating that a case vide FIR number 13/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Magam and investigation was initiated, Police in it’s statement said that during the course of investigation, officers with the help of technical evidences zeroed in on one suspect identified as Muzzaffar Ahmad Khatana S/o Mohammad Rafiq Khatana R/o Peerah Ramban who during sustained questioning disclosed that he along with 11 accomplices have stolen Iron bars weighing around 93 Quintals from Batpora Crossing and have used five vehicles including 4 trucks and a Santro Car in the commission of crime. Police in it’s statement also said that the said accused also disclosed that they have sold the stolen property to a scrap dealer at Batote Ramban, Stating therein further that police also arrested scrap dealer in the instant case and the stolen property (93 quintals of iron bars) too was recovered.
Stating that so far four accused persons have been arrested in the instant case besides, a truck bearing registration number JK14B-1095 used in the commission of crime has also been seized, Police in it’s statement furthermore said that the other arrested persons have been identified as Sadiq Hussain S/o Azeem Bakarwal, Mohammad Irfan Bokra S/o Abdul Aziz Bokra, both residents of Peerah Ramban, Mohammad Mughal Bokra S/o Abdul Rasheed Bokra R/o Samba Jammu, adding therein that efforts are on to nab the absconding accused persons and the investigation of the case is still going on.
