Pulwama Health Centres win Kayakalp Awards-2023

DC says “unending efforts of Distt Admin, Health workers bringing fruits”

Pulwama: After the strenuous efforts to reform and upgrade health sector of the district by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Chaudhary, the results of action are bearing fruits as same are acknowledged at national level as the district receives back to back recognition for TB free & Kayakalp Awards.
It has been a proud movement and pleasure for the district administration and whole district, as the Kayakalp “Award to Public Health Facilities” 2022-2023, results were announced.
In Pulwama one Community Health Centre Pampore, 05 PHC’s , 01 NTPHC, & 04 HWC’s have qualified for awards under Kayakalp.
Kayakalp Award Scheme was launched on May 15, 2015 as an extension of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, an initiative to improve and promote the cleanliness, hygiene, waste management and infection control practices in public health care facilities and incentivize the exemplary performing Public Health Care Facility.
Under Kayakalp Health Care Facilities undergo 3-tier assessment and the final assessment decides the winner for Health Facility.
Among Community Health Centre’s in of J&K CHC Pampore has received a Commendation Award while five other PHCs including NTPHC earned commendation awards of which PHC Khrew was named the winner among them.
Besides, four other HWC’s earned commendation awards while HWC Poshwan Block Tral was named the winner among them.
District Development Commissioner Pulwama while showering praise on the concerned officers & officials of District Health Department said, “the unending efforts of the Health Care Workers including NHM Management Unit have brought laurels after laurels as few days back the District was also awarded as TB Free District by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji”.
