Srinagar: Police Monday said that it has solved a theft case within hours in south Kashmir’s Shopian district by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on Police Station Zainapora on Monday 27th March received a written complaint from one person namely Faroq Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Ahmad Bhat R/o Niklora who had alleged therein that his personal Mobile phone has been stolen from his Hardware shop at Zainapora.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case vide FIR No.20/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Zainapora and investigation was initiated, Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, one suspect identified as Rafee Ahmad Sheikh S/o Mohamad Ayoub R/o Zainapora was called for questioning in the instant case and he confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that on the disclosure of the above named accused stolen Mobile phone and a cash amount of Rs. 41000 illegally withdrawn by the said accused through MPay have also been recovered and subsequently, the accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have appreciated the efforts made by the Police for solving the case and also resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
