Srinagar: Police in Kulgam on Friday facilitated a Police Community Partnership Group meeting (PCPG) in village Mohammadpora, Kulgam.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, the meeting was chaired by SP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal besides, ASP NHW Qazigund. Shabir Ahmad Khan, DySP Hqrs Kulgam Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, SHO PS Kulgam and other Senior officers of Kulgam Police were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens including members of Auqaf Committees, Youth Clubs, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation/Fruit Associations, Local Youth of the surrounding Villages of Okay, Nillow, Pariwan, Awhatto, Arreha, Sehpora, Mohammadpora, Tazipora, Khandipora and Chancer.
During the interaction meeting, the participants raised various issues of public importance for their immediate redressal. Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, the chairing officer assured that the genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their immediate redressal besides issues related to Police will be resolved in shortest possible time. The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Police in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
Moreover, the students from various schools have presented different topics before the participants, the motive of the meeting was to organise such programmes/events and seek involvement of youth and locals and to provide them platforms to explore their demands and to bridge the gap between Police and Public in the interest of Peace and prosperity.
Later on, SP Kulgam under “Civic Action Programme” (CAP) distributed books and track suits were among the students especially among the students of local orphanage. SP Kulgam while addressing the gathering, said that Kulgam police is making all efforts to reach out to the public and to provide them every possible help as and when they required it. He also exhorted the participants to come forward and support the Police in making Kulgam a drugs free district for which the participants assured their full co-operation to the district Police head. The participants also appreciated the efforts of police for tackling social evils and making people aware about various issues which are detrimental to the society. SP Kulgam have also assured the participants that such programs will continue in future as well so that the bound between police and public is further strengthened.
