Jammu: Brigadier (Retd) Anil Gupta the Member Administration J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) has said that first edition of IPL 2023 will be exciting for cricket fans of Jammu & Kashmir.
According to a statement issued by the J&K Cricket Association the Member Administration JKCA Brigadier (Retd) Anil Gupta said It’s the time when players compete with each other to give power-packed performances not only to entertain the fans but also to draw attention of the national .Brig Gupta also said that this year a big number of JKCA players will figure in the first edition of the IPL. Apart from the five players already selected to play for the different franchisees, six JKCA Players will be playing as net bowlers and injury substitutes. These players are; Basit Bashir – MI, Waseem Bashir – LSG, Abid Mushtaq and Mujtaba Yousuf – CSK, Umar Nazir – PBSK. In addition, Samiullah Dar, who has yet to play for JKCA but is a find of Talent Hunt 2022 has also joined KKR as a net bowler. “It only proves that JK has no dearth of talent, what our players missed were the opportunities. The talent of JKCA players is being recognised now. The IPL exposure will enable these players to further hone their cricketing skills and add quality to our teams,” asserted Brig Gupta. The opening ceremony of the IPL 2023 is planned as a grand event to be held at Ahmedabad on 31st March. The opening match will be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.
Brig Gupta also informed that BCCI for the first time will be creating a Fan Park in Jammu on 27th and 28th May wherein the semi final and final matches will be telecast live on big screens alongwith other fun and frolics. The Jammu fans will excitedly await for the Fan Park, hoped Brig Gupta .

Sunil Sethi, Member Legal Affairs said “the excitement will be palpable not only in the stadiums but all over, as the IPL Matches for the first time will have two broadcasters. The Star network will telecast the matches on TV, and Viacom18 will stream the matches on digital devices”.
