Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested two persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals case in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also seized 2 vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a Police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by In-charge PP Mirgund, seized 2 vehicles (tippers) and arrested 2 drivers identified as Showkat Ahmad Sheikh S/o Mohammad Sideeq R/o Pattan & Bilal Ahmad Wani S/o Ab Satar R/o Hanjiwera Pattan at Khanpeth Mirgund Pattan for their involvement in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals, adding therein that a case has been also registered under relevant sections of law at PS Pattan and investigation also initiated into the case..
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law but appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
