Srinagar : Police in Baramulla on Thursday seized illicit timber in village Saterseran Wagoora and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that a police party of Police Post Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf arrested two persons identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir S/o Ghulam Nabi Mir & Farooq Ahmad Mir S/o Souf-din Mir both residents of Saterseran Wagoora and recovered 7 logs of illicit timber from their possession at Saterseran Wagoora, adding therein that noth the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated an investigation into the matter, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that the drive against timber smugglers shall continue to ensure protection of green gold. Police also reassured the people that efforts are on to keep society free of crime. Police on this occasion also resolved to act tough against those who indulge in criminal & anti-social activities.
